Record participation from students at High Wind 2023

Close to 40 students took part in this year’s High Wind Conference in Stavanger. “A unique way for students to learn about the possibilities in an emerging industry”, says High Wind Project Manager, Birger Haraldseid.

- We really appreciate the opportunity to sponsor student participation at High Wind, they’re our future colleagues and we hope they gain a better understanding and insight into the sector, says Sebastian Bringsværd, Head of Norway and Sweden in Mainstream Renewable Power.

Mainstream Renewable Power, an Aker company, has sponsored student participation at High Wind since the conference started three years ago, and the interest and participation have increased every year.

On the look-out for job opportunities

- We are delighted to see that we managed to attract nearly 40 students from several universities this year, says Birger Haraldseid, Project Manager for High Wind 2023.

Haraldseid points out that the market for offshore wind jobs will grow fast in the next few years, and that students are eager to find jobs in this new and exciting industry. High Wind has invited students to follow the conference to help promote job opportunities within Offshore wind.

High Wind important for networking

- High Wind is an important arena for networking in the offshore wind industry and gives room for discussion, learning, and new insight. The Norwegian industry has an important role in inspiring and stimulating the new generation recruitment pool, Bringsværd adds.

High Wind takes place every year in Stavanger and is a leading meeting place for industry, decision-makers, and other players in a complete value chain for offshore wind in the North Sea.
