Festival Opening Hours

The festival area is open during the following hours:

• Wednesday, 22 July: 10:00–21:00
• Thursday, 23 July: 10:00–21:00
• Friday, 24 July: 10:00–21:00
• Saturday, 25 July: 10:00–16:00

Some food and beverage vendors will remain open later than the official festival hours. The festival's main concerts also continue beyond these opening hours. Please refer to the programme for details.

Getting to the Festival

We recommend travelling to the festival area in Stavanger city centre by public transport, bicycle, or on foot. Parking is limited, and heavy traffic is expected.

Local buses, ferries, and trains will operate as normal. Plan your journey with Kolumbus.

If you are travelling by regional train on the Sørlandet Line or the Jæren Line, timetables are available from Go-Ahead.

Taxi services will be available in the Olav V's Gate / Haakon VII's Gate area.

Road Closures

Several streets in Stavanger city centre will be closed from 16 to 27 July in connection with The Tall Ships Races.

The following streets will be closed:

• Uelandsgata
• Strandkaien
• Kongsgårdbakken
• Haakon VII's Gate (near Kiellandshagen)
• Skagenkaien
• Skansegata (from Skagenkaien to Børevigå)
• Nedre Holmegate (from Valberggata)

Parking

Bicycle: Additional bicycle parking has been provided near the festival area and throughout Stavanger city centre. Bicycle parking is available at:

• Sandvigå (north and west of the Cultural School)
• Parketten Parking Garage (north entrance)
• Haakon VII's Gate
• Cathedral Square (Domkirkeplassen)
• Holmeallmenningen
• Norwegian Petroleum Museum

For secure, covered bicycle parking, you can also use the Bikely bicycle lockers at:

• Domkirkehallen Parking Garage
• Stavanger Station
• Fiskepiren

Electric scooters: From 16 to 27 July, the following restrictions apply to electric scooters within the festival area:

• Maximum speed of 6 km/h (slow-speed zone)
• No parking permitted

Electric scooters may be parked at:

• Haakon VII's Gate
• Sandvigå
• Havneringen–Østervågskaien

Car: Parking is not available within the festival area.

The Valberget (Skagen Brygge) parking facility will operate with reduced opening hours during the event.

If you need to drive into the city centre, up-to-date information on available parking spaces and car parks can be found in the Stavanger Parking app and on electronic signs along the main access roads.

Guest Harbours

The guest harbour at Børevigå (next to the Norwegian Petroleum Museum) will be occupied by Class C and D vessels and will therefore be closed to the public.

The guest harbour in Vågen will be used by local sailing vessels and will also be closed to recreational boats during the event.

Both guest harbours will be unavailable from Monday, 20 July, through Sunday, 26 July.

Alternative guest harbours in the area may have capacity. Please contact them in advance to reserve a berth.

Programme

All events in the cultural programme are free of charge and require no tickets. There are no age restrictions.

Accessibility

A dedicated wheelchair viewing platform is available at the top of the Concert Hall Amphitheatre.

Accessible (HC) toilets are also located throughout the festival area.

Open Ships

Most of the larger ships will be open to visitors from Wednesday through Friday/Saturday.

Opening hours are decided individually by each ship and are usually posted at the gangway.

Admission is free.

First Aid

The first aid station, fire service, and police are located at the top of the Town Square steps, facing Stavanger Cathedral School (Kongsgård).

Child Safety

Please label children with their name and the mobile phone number of a parent or guardian.

Drone Flying

Flying drones within the festival area is prohibited without prior authorisation.

Alcohol

Alcoholic beverages may only be consumed within designated licensed areas.

The Concert Hall Amphitheatre is alcohol-free outside the designated outdoor serving area.

Tall Ships-parade – Saturday, 25 July

The Tall Ships Parade departs from Vågen at 12:00 and is expected to pass Tungenes by 16:00.

Randaberg Municipality and the Friends of Fjøløy will organise activities and viewing opportunities for spectators at Tungenes and Fjøløy.

The official regatta will take place west of Kvitsøy between 19:00 and 20:00 on Saturday evening. The exact location and starting time will depend on weather and wind conditions. After the start, the fleet will sail southeast towards Aalborg, Denmark.
