Robotics and artifical intelligence
In March 2026, Stavanger will host the European Robotics Forum (ERF), the EU’s flagship conference for robotics and artificial intelligence (AI). A mapping of the region's robotics scene has been done for the first time.
The Stavanger region has a long history of developing and applying advanced solutions. From industrial pioneers like Trallfa’s painting robots to modern companies such as AutoStore and Aarbakke, technological expertise is often spread across sectors in an interdisciplinary way. Companies in the region within health, oil & gas, manufacturing, maritime industries, and many more all share one thing in common: they are users of AI and robotics.
The City of Stavanger has together with Haugaland Vekst mapped the robotics industry in county Rogaland for the first time. The report can be read here.
